Many parts of Virginia remain impacted by inclement weather. Some Local Departments of Social Services offices will be closed Wednesday, Feb. 10.

This is a special tax credit that can help Virginia families and individuals make the most of their dollars and add to their financial security. Virginia's Poverty Task Force has just released its recommendations to combat poverty in the Commonwealth and increase economic stability for approximately 750,000 Virginians - including 250,000 children - living in poverty. The group has advised that Virginia focus on four primary goals, including investing in early childhood development and education; enhancing workforce readiness by expanding access to career development programs and employment supports; promoting savings and asset accumulation and expanding safety-net opportunities for families in crisis.
