This application (The Virginia Food Connection) allows Virginia residents to apply for multiple benefits from the following programs:
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
(formerly known as Food Stamps)
Women, Infants and Children (WIC)
The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)
You may submit a partial application now, but you must complete the rest of the application and the interview process before your eligibility can be determined.
Before applying for SNAP or WIC, applicants are encouraged to complete a preliminary eligibility screening.
The complete application takes about 15 minutes to 1 hour (depending on the programs you select). There is a rest stop between each of the
five sections that allows you to stop, save what you have entered and return later to complete the rest of the application. Once you have completed a section, you can not go back and make changes to that section.
If you are applying for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program:
Your application can not be processed and is not considered complete until it is received in your local agency and signed.
You have two options for providing a signature:
Electronically sign your application and send it through
this secure online website.
Complete the application online, print the application,
sign it, and deliver it by mail, fax, or in person to your local department
of social services.
An interview is also required unless you meet the conditions for a
waiver.
Any information provided by you in electronic form here shall be admissible in judicial or administrative proceedings, the same as information provided in printed form. By sending your information via the Internet, you are agreeing to these terms.
